About this piece: This autoanimated relic couple is sharing a romantic moment beside the sensual turkey baster tree. This tree is traditionally associated with fertility. Its voluptuous fruits appear to be nearly ripe. They are typically harvested in August… much earlier than other kitchen utensils.

Recently, I began experimenting with acrylics. I have no formal training as an artist. I admire the works of Dali, Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning, Giorgio De Chirico, and Rene Magritte, among others.
Usually, I paint it first; then think about what it all means to me. I think my current fascination with creation and re-birth is somehow connected to an increasing awareness of my own mortality. African masks interest me, and their beautiful/grotesque features often appear in my paintings.
