Rita Melo

Rita Melo is a contemporary Portuguese painter. Her work is characterized by the use of oil colors, which helps to create an innovative and personal style, sometimes surrealist and, on other occasions, more realistic. Melo’s particular vision of the world is realized in the representation of the human figure, which is often decomposed and multiplied.  

Melo's works can be found in private and public collections, such as: Penafiel City Council; Garbagnate Milanese City Hall, Milan; Bairrada Wine Museum; Jornal de Notícias do Porto. Her art has been exhibited in museums, galleries and international contemporary art fairs, such as MAG (Switzerland), the Bienal de Arte Contemporânea do Sertão (Brazil) and the Viophilia Gallery (Miami).

Rita Melo was born in 1982, in Portugal. She has a graduation in painting from Arts University School of Coimbra, a post-graduation from Arts University of Lisbon and a master in Visual Arts from University of Évora.
