Rigel Herrera nace en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México en 1975.
Es Licenciada en Artes Plásticas en La ENPEG La Esmeralda con cédula profesional número 11054699.
Su trabajo se ha expuesto colectivamente en más de 120 muestras en museos y galerías de la Ciudad de México y en el interior de la República, EUA, España, Inglaterra, Italia, Francia e Irlanda, y Japón. Y ha tenido 14 exposiciones individuales.
En el año 2000 recibe el Premio Italia por el Arte, en Florencia, Italia, y el III Premio Internazionale di Arte Contemporánea, EUROP’ART Group, en Ferrara, Italia.
Ha sido directora de dos galerías: La masmédula (1996-2005) y GA de la Secretaría de Economía (2012-2018) mostrando obra de más de 300 artistas mexicanos.
Ha participado en grandes proyectos de restauración de obras de arte como el mural de 700 m2 de Pedro Cervantes en el lobby de la Secretaría de Economía de la Torre Ejecutiva.
Con más de 20 años de experiencia docente, desde 2019 es maestra de pintura en ESCENA.
Codirige la fundación sin fines de lucro EL ARTE NOS SALVA A.C.
