Description: Dawn to Dusk is a refined exploration of structure, texture, and atmosphere—part of the artist’s ongoing Roof Series, which investigates the architectural rhythm and emotional resonance of vernacular spaces.
This composition features a stylized villagescape: a cluster of minimal, monochromatic houses outlined in bold black, crowned by striking yellow-orange rooftops. The stark lines and geometric forms are softened by a pastel sky that transitions seamlessly from cool blue to gentle yellow and golden hues, evoking the quiet majesty of daybreak or twilight.
Using acrylic and stone-finish plaster introduces a rich, tactile dimension, echoing the weathered surfaces of aged facades and timeworn rooftops. Earthy tones—beige, ochre, warm browns—anchor the scene, while subtle whites and muted blacks lend balance and depth.
Through its minimal form and expressive texture interplay, Dawn to Dusk captures the dualities of built environments: permanence and impermanence, shelter and openness, solitude and connection. Her hope is that, through art, She can awaken emotions in the people who view her work – be it ecstasy, elegance, retrospect, or pensiveness. Art is a universal language everyone can understand, even if they don’t share the same native tongue. Dig deep, and you can see at a glance whether a painting expresses love, anger, conflict, sorrow, joy...it’s all there between the lines and layers of color and texture.
Art changes lives, and sometimes, can even save lives, by inspiring people to slow down, breathe, and truly absorb the raw beauty of life.
