Jego pasja do sztuki rozpaliła się w młodym wieku, gdy zaczął zgłębiać malarstwo olejne mając zaledwie dziewięć lat. Zaangażowanie Miqayelyana w swoje rzemiosło było widoczne już na początku, co zaowocowało uzyskaniem dyplomu drugiego stopnia na pierwszym All-Union Exhibition Festival, który odbył się w latach 1995–1997.
