Scène urbaine. Un carrefour parisien en 1962. Au centre de la toile, une DS 19 est garée le long du trottoir. Sur le bord inférieur droit, une entrée de métro. Un poteau d'un vert typique coupe la toile de haut en bas. Au premier plan à droite en bas, quelques paniers, puis un homme, un ouvrier, cigarette à la bouche et béret sur la tête se dirige vers le centre de la scène d'une allure débonnaire. Devant lui marche un homme en imperméable qui regarde vers la droite. Sur le bord droit, un homme lit en s'appuyant à la rambarde de la sortie du métro. Des véhicules de livraison, camionnettes, camions, circulent. Les clous fichés dans le macadam indiquent également les années 60. Le parapluie ainsi que la chaussée reflétant la lumière indiquent qu'il a plu. Le nom "Artémis" est imaginaire.

Urban scene. A Paris crossroads in 1962. In the centre of the canvas, a DS 19 is parked alongside the pavement. At the bottom right-hand edge, a metro entrance. A typical green pole cuts across the canvas from top to bottom. In the lower right foreground, a few baskets, then a man, a labourer, cigarette in his mouth and beret on his head, walks towards the centre of the scene with a debonair air. In front of him walks a man in a mackintosh, looking to the right. On the right-hand edge, a man is reading, leaning against the railings of the metro exit. Delivery vehicles, vans and lorries are on the road. The nails in the tarmac also point to the 1960s. The umbrella and the pavement reflecting the light indicate that it has rained. The name "Artémis" is imaginary.
