I am an artist, teacher, exhibition organiser, lecturer and fine art curator.
My paintings in oil and mixed media and drawings in charcoal and ink are expressive interpretations of familier subjects - the nude, the landscape, ancient myths and stories. Themes include the story of Icarus and dancers in motion.
The joy of mark making and elements of chance lead to distinctive and unusual images.
I have exhibited widely in the UK and have work in public and private collections at home and abroad.
I trained at Liverpool School of Art and University College London, achieving a BA Hons. Fine Art, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and an MA in Museum Studies.

Biography
Paul McKee is an artist, who exhibits in the UK and whose work is collected widely. Paul trained at Liverpool School of Art, in the late 1970s, where he received a BA in Fine Art. Following a period as an art teacher, Paul worked in Art Galleries and Museums, gaining a Master’s Degree, from University College London, in Museum Studies.
Paul's paintings in oil and mixed media and drawings in charcoal, pastel and ink are full of colour and life. Landscapes, still lives, mythical subjects and the figure are rendered in a semi-abstract manner and are synthesised through memory and feeling. He identifies with the tradition of the romantic English landscape painters of the past, including Turner, Piper, Palmer, Sutherland and Nash, but he brings to his work a unique style, which has been developed over many years.
