A la fin fin du mois d'Août, nous étions à Ostende. On avait loué des transats au bar "Le Lido". Autour de nous, il y avait parfois des goélands, mouettes. Le ciel c'est couvert, une petite téméraire c'était rapprochée. Je n'avais rien à lui donner! Mais, moi, j'avais reçu à cet instant les éléments pour réaliser une nouvelle composition. A la fin fin du mois d'Août, nous étions à Ostende . On avait loué des transats au bar "Le Lido" . Autour de nous , il y avait parfois des goélands , mouettes. Le ciel c'est couvert , une petite téméraire c'était rapprochée . Je n'avais rien à lui donner ! Mais, moi, j'avais reçu à cet instant les éléments pour réaliser une nouvelle composition.
L'idée de la composition: la toile étroite accentue l'élévation de notre regard sur la mouette vers le ciel . Un puit de lumière s'ouvre dans le ciel orageux et apporte du contraste. Les pas et traces au sol apportent un élément de fuite vers l'horizon du tableau ( profondeur ).
