Olha Tielushkina

I have always loved to draw. As a child, I enjoyed attending an art school in the city of Lisichansk in eastern Ukraine. After school, I graduated from the Lugansk State Institute of Culture and Arts, specialising in Fine Arts. For many years I worked as a fine arts teacher at the Lysychansk Art School, where I once studied, and then became its director. Later I started teaching drawing and painting at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. Many of my pupils and students won various creative competitions and became artists or designers.In March 2022, I had to leave my home in eastern Ukraine due to the full-scale invasion and occupation of my city by Russian troops. Paints and paper were among the essentials taken with me during the evacuation. Gradually I returned to my favourite pastime of painting. During the years of war I lived in different cities of Ukraine, now I live in Poland. Moving around Ukraine and Europe inspired me to create landscape works. I believe that beauty will save the world, and people involved in creativity will help in this endeavour.
