Vilgeny Melnikov is a contemporary Russian sculptor. For 10 years Melnikov has been looking for his style, in the field of shaping experimental objects. He has been experimenting with methods of shaping and work of form with space, until he founded his technique - inflation of metal objects (Hydroforming). With this technique he can control the shape by 85-90%, and 10-15% are formed by themselves, the natural and mechanical laws of residual deformation of the yield strength of the metal. Furthermore, this technology allows him to make art of very large sizes and in an endless direction of forms.
Vilgeny Melnikov was born in 1984, in Russia, where he finished Private School of Arts V. Mironenko. Soon after, he established the art residence OfelyArt Home and opened the experimental sculpting studio OfelyArt in St. Petersburg.
