1950 doğumlu, Ankara Kurtuluş Lisesi 1968, Kara Harp Okulu 1972, Kara Harp Akademisi 1986 mezunu emekli Kurmay Albay’dır.
1999 yılında Ankara Resim Heykel Müzesinde başladığı resim eğitimine Atatürk Kültür Merkezi, Gür Dalkıran, Yaşar Çallı ve Teymur Ağalıoğlu Atölyelerinde devam etti. Gazeteciler Cemiyeti 1. Uluslararası Ankara Ressamlar Buluşması (Gölbaşı/ Ankara) ve 1. Kapadokya Asker ve Akademisyen Ressamlar Buluşması (Uçhisar/ Nevşehir) olmak üzere iki uluslararası çalıştaya katıldı.
Resim çalışmalarını Ankara’da ve Bodrum’da sürdüren Erdal Bölükbaşı, Türkiye Güzel Sanat Eseri Sahipleri Meslek Birliği (GESAM), Anadolu Görsel Sanatlar Derneği (AGSAD), Sanat ve Sanatkarlar Topluluğu Kültür Derneği (SAKÜDER) , Trakya Ressamlar Derneği (TRED) üyesidir.
Yağlı boya ve akrilik boya teknikleri ile realist, izlenimci ve sürrealist tarzda resimler yapmaktadır. İstanbul, Balkanlar, Bodrum, Kozmos serisi resimleri mevcuttur.
Bugüne kadar 8 kişisel sergi açtı, 175'i yurt içinde, 15'i yurt dışında olmak üzere toplam 190 karma ve yarışmalı sergiye katıldı, çeşitli resim yarışmalarında 9 adet ödül aldı.
