Wat is de oorsprong van de Encaustiek techniek?

Encaustic schilderij is gemaakt van een mengsel van pigmenten opgelost in gesmolten was. Encaustic is een preparaat op basis van bijenwas (bindmiddel) en verschillende essences (essentie van terpentijn, kleurpigmenten).
