Confess to yourself (2022) Pintura por Anna Motrych

I am an artist from Ukraine, currently living and working in Germany since 2022. My artistic path is both a personal journey and a way to explore the depth of human nature. I use visual art not only as a form of expression, but also as a tool for inner dialogue and transformation, drawing on art-therapeutic approaches.

My work is born from the need to connect with what is usually hidden. It is a dialogue with the vulnerable and shadowy parts of the soul — with the inner child who once felt like an outsider, yet turned out to be the source of my freedom, wildness, and true creativity.

I explore subtle emotional states: fear and acceptance, loneliness and connection, emptiness as a space where something new can emerge. I am interested in the moment of transition — when pain becomes clarity and chaos takes shape. My art is not about external representation, but about internal movement — the rhythm of emotions, the pauses in awareness, the fragile boundary between the self and the world.

I work in various techniques, allowing the materials to guide me — trusting intuition more than logic. The images in my work are not planned in advance; they arise as traces of inner experiences. Alongside visual techniques, I use art therapy methods — in both my personal practice and my work with others, helping people find grounding, meaning, and connection through creativity.

Through art, I create a space where one can be real — alive, sensitive, imperfect. For the viewer, my work is an invitation to honesty: to look within, to feel, and not to turn away. I believe that creativity has the power not only to heal but also to connect — with oneself, with others, and with something 

greater.
