She develops her work from the language of engraving. She likes to carve wooden plates, print matrices, recognize herself in fate. She understands inks and papers, presses and rollers, blankets, solvents. She has gouges, she knows the white, the inversion of the image, she loves to edit, she cannot stop doing woodcuts, she has exhibited in many places.

Biography:

Monique Verdu lives in Santiago de Chile, has a degree in Art with a major in engraving from the Catholic University of Chile. She has participated in biennials and triennials, such as Chamaliere, the Havana Biennial, the Tokyo Biennial, Felicien Rops. She has had numerous group exhibitions in Chile, and in other countries.
