“It’s not about the colours. Or the paints. It’s about you, it’s about me, it’s about us…”
I am an introvert. It doesn’t mean I am shy.
It means I spend a lot of time thinking (instead of talking and socializing).
I like to think about evolution, this topic haunts me… I can’t stop thinking about women’s rights, the roles they played in society… The way they were treated… I often imagine what my life would be like if I were born at least 100 years ago… Or even worse – in the Middle Ages. I am pretty sure it would be a nightmare.
Painting is for me a necessity, it’s the best way to express myself, my thoughts, fears, vivid dreams, feelings and it’s the best to transmit them in a pictorial way.
In my portfolio you’ll find stories of love and other subjects:
Infertility problems: Several million children have been born from in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. I am one of them…
Evolution: from the Big bang to first cells and extraterrestrial objects and landscapes.
Human body aspects (Flowers series inspired by women around me)
Splashes of everyday life
My main inspiration is everyday life and people’s stories, their personal experiences and emotions, their hopes and dreams. Sometimes it’s literature and music, memories expressed in colorful lines and shapes.
I enjoy working with oil paint. My compositions and style are diverse, however always expressing emotions and subjects mentioned above.
The painters that inspire me most are: Ilya Repin for the way he shows people’s emotions and social inequality. I also admire Wassily Kandinsky for his motives, and then I like Dutch artists (16-17 centuries) for their light and colour schemes, Hieronymus Bosch for his dance between heaven and hell, and so many contemporary artists…
My art is widely represented in collections within and outside the UK.
