May Clemente

Martinican painter, May Clemente has chosen to turn to the abstract which is for her the style that best suits her thanks to the infinite possibilities it offers to freely merge materials, colors and shapes, its timelessness, and its ability to offer everyone a personal reading of reality. Despite the use of mixed media in the majority of his works, his preference is for acrylic.

The plastic dimension having a preponderant place in her works, she explores the liveliness and luminosity of warm colors as well as the softness and unfathomable depth of a cold palette or coffee pigments. Currently living between Martinique and Paris, his New York experience of a multicultural, vibrant and stimulating city has had a decisive impact on his work.

His works invite us to take a break, in space and time. Musicians, dancers, landscapes, share this same wind of freedom, and this desire for transcendence that blows when we reflect on certain periods of our history.

May has exhibited in the Caribbean, France and the United States.
