These depictions in chalk, pastel, crayon, and charcoal are approximations of both images sourced online, and of colonies grown in petri dishes at home, using the bacterial collected from the surface of my own skin.

Masima (he/him), is a multi-disciplinary fine artist from the UK. He holds a BA (Hons) in Fine & Applied Art with Digital Media and an MA in Fine Art. Masima graduated from Chelsea College of Art in 2022.
Masima's practice utilises the act of walking in nature as a means of exploring literal and conceptual landscapes; inspiring and informing his output.
He frequently favours a process of deconstruction/reconstruction as a device for work and idea generation; removing and adding components to investigate interesting relationships.
