Lack of Autonomy and a feeling of being lost or waiting for the instructions to arrive, so I can begin my life.

Leaves, are one of my obsessions and another parallel with my internal emotional world.

This will be a limited print run of 15. All prints will be signed and numbered on the front and you will receive a certificate of authentication with your print.

The image size will be approximately 10x8, or what I consider sits aesthetically correct within an A3 paper format.

As a rule, I print my pictures on A3 Matte Archival Art Paper but occasionally I use a semi-gloss paper, this is because, I believe that the image will benefit. I reserve the right to make that decision on your behalf, unless of course you request otherwise.

If you have a preference of paper type, then if you contact me direct, this can be discussed.
Should you be interested in purchasing one of my pictures, it’s worth noting, that print colour may vary slightly depending on what system you are viewing the image.

Martin Vallis is een professionele fotograaf. Zijn stijl evolueerde, wat resulteerde in strak bijgesneden close-upwerk, meestal met behulp van Tungsten-verlichting, om textuur en detail te verbeteren. Twee decennia later verliet Martin de commerciële fotografie en concentreerde hij zich op zijn eigen visie.

Gedurende zijn carrière is Martins stijl veranderd, maar toch blijft de altijd constante voorkeur voor eenvoud van solitaire objecten, een weerspiegeling van textuur en vorm: minder is meer. De samenleving kan tijd besteden aan het zoeken naar het 'grote plaatje' terwijl ze de 'schoonheid van eenvoud' missen. Hij vindt dat het een diep gevoeld gevoel van isolement, eenzaamheid en leegte uitbeeldt. De kunstenaar wil maar al te graag concluderen dat hij nu begrijpt dat die gevoelens meer te maken hebben met zijn toestand dan met de werkelijkheid.

Martin Vallis heeft visuele communicatie gestudeerd aan Medway College of Art and Design van 1976-79 en verhuisde in 1980 naar Londen. Na 3 jaar als fotografisch assistent van commercieel fotograaf Gary Bryan te hebben gewerkt, richtte hij in 1983 zijn eigen studio op in Chelsea, dat gespecialiseerd is in hoogwaardige stillevenfotografie, op het gebied van reclame, vormgeving en redactie. Martin maakte ook stills op tv- en bioscoopcommercials, voornamelijk met regisseurs Howard Guard en Ridley Scott (Alien/Blade Runner/Gladiator). Enkele van Martin's klanten waren British Airways, BMW, Volkswagen en Selfridges.
