Mario Bondanini, de nationalité suisse et d’origine italienne, né en juillet 1937 à Lausanne, a terminé ses études par le diplôme d’ingénieur en organisation industrielle à l’École Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich.
Il entre dans l’entreprise familiale MELIOR SA, société spécialisée dans le lancement de nouveautés dans les arts culinaires, en devient propriétaire et administrateur unique en 1981. Il vend sa société florissante en 1998 et prend sa retraite le premier janvier 2000.
Dès son plus jeune âge, son penchant naturel artistique a été canalisé par son père vers des activités plus économiquement rentables. La photographie, la vidéo, l’informatique, la peinture, l’architecture, le théâtre resteront au stade de hobby, sa créativité concentrée sur son entreprise.
Il est l'auteur de plusieurs livres de recettes culinaires et de deux ouvrages sur le management et le savoir-être économique: Contes de fées pour manager et Ecce Labor parus aux Éditions Melior. Il a écrit plusieurs autres titres, non publiés.
Au début de sa retraite, il visite Cuba, y découvre sa quadrature du cercle. Cette île magique lui inspire notamment un roman érotique Cuba mi amor.
A présent il a le temps d’utiliser sa créativité, ce qui lui permet de vivre une seconde jeunesse. Et les femmes restent sa passion préférée.
Sans domicile fixe, il vit, voyage, lit, photographie, peint et écrit entre la Suisse, l’Italie, Paris et La Havane.
