Marco Arduini is a contemporary Italian painter, born in 1959 in Reggio Emilia. He received his artistic training at the Istituto d’Arte "G.Chierici" in Reggio Emilia and has since developed a unique style working on wood, canvas, and old paper. Arduini’s work draws heavily on American Pop Art, infusing this influence into his “Travel Stories” series, which reflects the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s while also incorporating elements of contemporary life. Using tempera and acrylic, he creates pieces with intense emotional and chromatic impact, while his works on antique paper—some dating back to the 1800s—feature detailed graphite and ink illustrations depicting pilots, racing cars, and airplanes in realistic narratives.
Arduini’s work is part of the prestigious Pio Alfarano and Virginia Ippolito Foundation collection, curated by renowned art critic Vittorio Sgarbi. Among his accolades, he was a finalist in the 2010 Premio Arte Mondadori in Milan and exhibited at the 54th Venice Biennale in the Italian Pavilion for Emilia Romagna in Reggio Emilia’s Chiostri di S.Pietro in 2011. Currently, he collaborates with the Radium Artis Gallery in S.Martino in Rio (RE), continuing to explore and evolve his dynamic, pop-inspired visual language.
