Luigi Mancuso

I am a self-taught sculptor. My artistic activity ranges between sculpture and painting. I work with stone, wood and the technique of oil painting. Recently, I approached the techniques for the foundry. My research focuses on the study of the past, with a look at the present. I enjoy rediscovering ancient techniques, almost no longer in use, and making them my own. I participated in some symposia around Italy, which allowed me to acquire new skills. In my territory I collaborate with associations and institutions for the realization of artistic and cultural events. With my work I want to express my emotions, feelings, interests and reflections, talking about my daily life and the environment that surrounds me. Knowing things through their opposite. I use a symbolic and hermetic language. I am fascinated by the exploration of the mechanisms of the unconscious, the practice of the carving technique, but in general of all sculptural techniques, they are for me a very valid meditation tool.
