Lin Schmidt born in 1952 near Chicago
lives and works in Tarbes (Hautes Pyrénées)
After a mid-western childhood, playing in cornfields and old barns she studied fine art and psychology, first in the United States and then in Paris where she received her BFA in 1974. After oscillating between the States and Europe for several years she settled down in France in 1980. From that time to 2002 she participated in many group and individual exhibitions.
In 2003 after the loss of her husband, who was also a painter, and faced with the necessity of moving, she had neither the time nor the heart to show her work, but continued drawing. She re-established her studio in 2007 and has begun to show her work to the public.
