There was a time when I was very attentive to dreams. There was a notebook with a pen next to the bed, in case I suddenly wake up in order to write down what I saw. In the morning I looked into the interpreters of dreams to see the secret signs of the future or delve into the secrets of my subconscious. Those times are long gone, but there are a few recurring dreams that remain in my memory. In one of them, I am sailing in a gondola along a canal in Venice and watch with cold horror as the huge alligator swims next to me.
Therefore, when in a drawing lesson I drew a model holding by one hand on a pole, I immediately had an analogy with my old dream. Already in the studio, I finished drawing a blue gondola and an alligator to tell my story.
This drawing is part of a series of works called "The Secret Garden", in memory of the Orange Garden in Rome, in which the past and the present, the fictional and the real, something internal, but something that cannot be caught if it does not appear outside, are bizarrely combined.

The plots of her creations are taken from her life: a birch glade near her house at different times of the year, the portrait of a loved one, her village in the snow...
Natalie Levkovska have organized 19 personal exhibitions, participated in a lot of paintings and drawings events, and her drawings can be found in many private collections.
