The historic city of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, hosts an international exhibition of Contemporary Art every two years, known as the Florence Biennale.
Since its inception in 1997, more than 600 talented artists from more than 100 countries have taken part in this representative exhibition.
This year, among its participants was the People's Artist of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Russian and Russian Academies of Arts, Professor Lekim Ibragimov.
People's Artist Lekim Ibragimov became the only participant of the Biennale from Uzbekistan. He presented at the exhibition five of his paintings 一 "Freedom" 2015, "Khotanka" 2020, "Angel" 2009, "Khotanka" 2008, "Tartary, Huns, Uyghurs" 2020, which were painted in different periods of the painter's creative activity.
During the Florence Biennale, an international jury made up of eminent scholars, art historians and critics from different countries awards the international prize "Lorenzo il Magnifico" to the best exhibiting artists for their works presented in the exhibition. Lekim Ibragimov was awarded a gold medal and a special award from the president of the Biennale, Piero Celon. It is important to note that Lekim Ibragimov became the first winner of this award in the history of Uzbekistan.
