Gyorgy Lantos urodził się w 1957 roku w Budapeszcie na Węgrzech. Jako dziecko miał związek ze sztuką, szczególnie z muzyką i sztuką. Podczas studiów w liceum poznał technikę intarsji, zaczął stosować w swojej pracy. Był to pierwszy krok na spotkanie z artystą Alberto Gábrimem, malarzem, który później został nauczycielem Lantosa. Mimo miłości do sztuki, młody Lantos zdecydował się ukończyć uniwersytet na Politechnice w Budapeszcie, a po jego ukończeniu pracował jako inżynier przez ponad 10 lat. Jednak silny związek ze sztuką nie zawiódł i powrócił do sztuki po 1990 roku, kiedy jego nauczycielami zostali Emil Gábor i István Reinhardt. Od 1995 roku aktywnie tworzy, wystawia i oddaje się sztuce jako jego główny zawód.
