The author of this extraordinary work is Krzysztof Plonka. This sculpture clearly bears the imprint of the artistic vision of master Zdzisław Beksiński - in its monumental, perfect form, emanating a mysterious and yet fascinating aura.
This unique sculpture is a true emanation of the ancient, sacred sphere of esoteric mysteries. Although it ostensibly takes the form of an archetypal human face, its monumental, perfect shape contains a series of enigmatic air-permeable openings.
When gusts of wind penetrate these mystical openings, they release fascinatingly unsettling, meditative sounds. This peculiar "sound resonance" gives this extraordinary creation the impression of an animated artifact, as if emanating alien, cosmic energy.
Umbrae Vorax is in fact a skillful monument that transcends the horizon of traditional sculpture. Transcending the material limitations of the medium, this work appears as an almost superhuman manifestation of ideal harmony and aesthetic perfection. At the same time, however, it disturbs us with its mysterious, almost demonic aura - as if under the guise of this sublime, hieratic form, lurked some ancient, transgressive power.
This astonishing synthesis of the divine and the demonic, the sacred and the profane, creates an aura of extraordinary, metaphysical fascination around this sculpture. Umbrae Vorax detaches us from everyday life, to draw us into the whirlwind of mystical, timeless contemplation. Krzysztof Plonka is a sculptor, painter and versatile multimedia artist .
In addition to creating monumental, sophisticated bronze monoliths, he has been engaged in creating cinematic art, games and music videos for years.
By combining a variety of means of expression, he composes precise and avant-garde works on the border of art, film and new media. He collaborated on special effects for productions such as "Avatar II", "Get Even", "The Witcher" and "Medium". His diverse work goes beyond the film industry, also encompassing painting and sculpture, immersed in the current of surrealism.
He draws inspiration from the artistic heritage of surrealist masters such as H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński, creating a futuristic fusion from it. He consistently crosses the boundaries of established conventions, mixing incompatible registers. He creates hybrid objects, performances and installations that question established modes of perception. He materializes visions that elude rational conceptualization, provoking new, refined aesthetic experiences.
Encountering the work of this artist, the viewer experiences a variety of emotions - from anxiety and disorientation to spiritual and transcendental experiences. His works emanate a sense of encountering art from another planet, forcing the viewer to abandon established categories and conventions. Rejecting mimetic representations, he confronts the viewer with a construct of seemingly contradictory elements, generating an effect of destabilizing fascination. In this way, he develops an idiom of unstable reality, based on discontinuous, dynamic configurations. His practice constantly challenges established taxonomies, dismantling the boundaries between creative disciplines.
