My great grandmother made lace for the church and my grandfather swept its floors during their time living there. This drawing is of a handkerchief that my great grandmother made later in her life. It's part of a small collection that I have of her creations and serves as a reminder of her fortitude and resilience.

Kristine Facchetti was born and raised in the Silicon Valley area of California. From an early age she found the process of making art to be integral to her life and identity.  Throughout her school years she pursued any art training she could get her hands on, be it books, classes or just hours of practice.  All of this culminated in attending the art program at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles), from which she holds a BFA. However, shortly after graduating, Kristine shifted her creative focus towards another life-long devotion.  She took a 10+ year hiatus from painting and drawing to work as a ballet dancer.  Now, having reached an age where that career is no longer sustainable, Kristine has returned to drawing, primarily in oil pastels. She currently resides in the Los Angeles area.
