Meerkat Manor, is an original painting of 5, adorable meerkats enjoying a lazy afternoon in a beautiful interior designed by Irish interior decorator, Jen Connell.

A view from the window of this gorgeous room shows an inviting, sunny, African landscape with a giraffe and 2 zebras strolling by.

On the shelves, I added a stature of a Hoopoe bird, a Guinea fowl, and African Grey parrot, a cammel teapot and a parrot tureen. I also added protea flowers to the red window vase and a teapot with a Hoopoe bird on it and my favorite leopard print tea cup!

These little details tie in with the theme of this artwork!

We have a family of meerkats at our nearby zoo. I've spent time observing them as they scurry around making sure their little tunnel homes are perfectly clean. Watching them gave me the idea that they'd feel right at home in a beautiful, neat interior like this one!

This painting is 23" x 26.75" or 58.42 x 67.95 cm.

This has been painted on French-made, Arches 356gsm all cotton, watercolor paper with Rembrandt professional watercolor paints and De Atramentis Archival ink.

Kristen is an interdisciplinary artist working in both oil and watercolor.  Her joyful, colorful paintings are very popular with collectors!  Kristen's oil paintings feature luxurious, thick strokes of paint which give added interest to the artwork.  Subjects include garden landscapes, Giverny and European cityscapes as well as some interior scenes!

Kristen's watercolor paintings are intricate and detailed.  They depict wildlife or cherished pets in interesting interior settings.
