"Feathers And Frescoes", is a 12" x 9" or 30.48cm x 22.86cm original watercolor and ink painting of a lovely interior in a Tuscan home. The warm walls and arched ceilings reminded me of the warmth of a 12th century Tuscan farmhouse where I taught my first international painting workshop many years ago! Frogs sang us to sleep and we awoke each morning to the sound of chickens.

This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. It has been painted with Rembrandt professional watercolor paints and archival ink. The paper is Arches, French-made all cotton 300gsm watercolor paper.

Kristen Olson Stone grew up in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. with a sincere appreciation for art and music. The daughter of two classical musicians, she spent time learning to play piano, violin, viola, and classical guitar. Although she loved music, her real passion has always been that of drawing and painting. 

Inspired by her grandmother, also a painter, she attended art school at The University of Maryland and The California Art Institute in Los Angeles.  Classically trained, she enjoyed painting people and portraits but her love of nature and wildlife steered her towards a more painterly style of impressionism. 

Kristen is an interdisciplinary artist working in  oil and watercolor.  Her joyful, colorful paintings are very popular with collectors!  Her style of oil painting features luxurious, thick strokes of oil paint which give added interest to the artwork.  When viewed from a close distance, these oil paintings appear to be a textured mosaic of beautiful strokes of color, like tiny abstract paintings within the larger work. When viewed from a further distance, the lines, colors and shapes come together to magically reveal a particular subject.
