Il naît en 1944 dans une famille d'artiste très connue de Budapest. En 1956 il se réfugie en Suisse, à Neuchâtel. Son prénom Bálint traduit en français le fait connaître en tant que Valentin. Parsa mère peintre et céramniste et le cercle d'amis de celle-ci (Jean Latour, Alain Delapraz, etc.), il est initié à l'art.
Après une carrière de gestionnaire, à passé cinquante ans, il revient à la source, et se voue entièrement à la peinture.
Depuis 1999 il vit en Hongrie avec sa femme Marcelle VALLON,également peintre, au bord du lac Balaton. C'est là que le couple travaille et enseigne.
De nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives en Suisse et en Hongrie ont permis au couple de présenter leurs oeuvres.
Devenu un expert en aquarelle, il en a parcouru toutes les techniques et ses séries en démontrent la maîtrise.
Il a construit son propre monde, où sur un fonds d'aquarelle il dessine à la plume des personnages et des symboles venant de son inconscient.
