The image was taken in streets of Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Duque de Caxias is full of very underdeveloped communities with extreme crime rate. Main income of local people comes from illegal drug dealing. The police has no power here what so ever, partially for being corrupted. In return, there is no infrastructure built from public finances. The communities have no proper communications, no sewage, clean water supply. These places are like islands of no public interests and modern civilization. The streets feel like full of scary daemons and that is what I implemented into the underlying analog photograph - silhouettes representing the daemons.
