Biography
Artist Julia Valkiainen plays with color and the understanding of geometric shapes on canvas, a trend that started in 2020. She drew inspiration from the paintings of Vasily Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, and Zinaida Serebryakova. Julia has come a long way from the Russian academic school, studying old masters and doing copy work at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, as well as having numerous works in the field of restoration. Her paintings reflect various mechanisms of color and form perception, as well as the movement of objects on the canvas.Julia Valkiainen graduated in 2004 from the higher vocational educational institution I.E. Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg. By profession, I am an artist-restorer.
