Jose Romero

My works are created through a process from which I start by a simple sketch of a place or object and then arrive at feeling. I like letting the painting find itself, covering and uncovering layers until something unique is discovered in each one.
I was born in Honduras and lived there until the age of ten. References to snakes and materials like twine create a connection between my recent past and my early years in Central America.
