Formado em Desenho Industrial, José Roberto Teixeira Leite Júnior é autodidata em pintura. Já realizou individuais no Restaurante Tanaka (2004), no Espaço Cultural Maurice Valansi (2005) e no Restaurante Piola (2006), além de ter seus quadros em exposição permanente na Galeria Luz dos Anjos, em Brasília – DF. No exterior, expôs em Miami, na Art Fusion Gallery (2007) e na Bélgica, na De Muze Galerie (2007). Recentemente fez individual no Cassino Atlântico, na Angelina Arts Assossiation, como prêmio por ter se destacado, em primeiro lugar, dentre mais de 120 participantes que pleiteavam a colocação.
Servidas por bom desenho e forte colorido, as pinturas de Teixeira Leite são inconfundíveis: representam quase sempre mulheres, observadas ao mesmo tempo de frente e de perfil, geometricamente esquematizadas e de corpos que parecem executar movimentos insólitos, quando não levitar, libertos da lei da gravidade, em meio a cenários nos quais aparecem, como elementos recorrentes, cadeiras que se sustentam sobre duas ou três pernas, atravessam as retratadas ou com elas se fundem, vasos de quatro ou cinco magras flores e o piso em tabuleiro de xadrez, tudo amarrado de modo peculiar e cada elemento obedecendo a seu próprio ponto de fuga, o que cria, na superfície do quadro, espaços ambíguos de sonho.
Figurativa e abstratizante, subordinada sem rigidez a esquemas geométricos, expressionista, mas sem repudiar certo toque bem humorado, a forte pintura de Teixeira Leite é paradoxal, no sentido de que também participa da natureza do desenho e, dentro desse, do caricatural.
Uma pintura de Teixeira Leite, seja ela figura humana, natureza-morta, paisagem ou o expresso que avança em seus trilhos, será sempre, antes de mais nada, a forma bem definida em seus contornos através de um arcabouço de caprichosas linhas, e num segundo momento fragmentada, desarticulada, decomposta num sem-número de partículas coloridas, para afinal impor-se ao olho do espectador por seu conteúdo expressivo e uma sensibilidade sui-generis.
As telas de Teixeira Leite não se destinam apenas a ser vistas, mas também pensadas, pois sua matéria prima é a solidão humana, a impossível comunicação, a difícil proeza da vida.
Teixeira Leite é um dos grandes talentos das novas gerações de pintores. Da mesma família de um Roberto Magalhães, exprime seus sentimentos e críticas com um humor fino e sensível.

Biography
José Roberto Teixeira Leite Júnior, born in 1965, lives and works in Brazil. He studied industrial design and visual communication in Rio de Janeiro from 1987 to 1993. Although his training was in industrial design, he is self-taught in painting, developing a unique style that draws inspiration from Cubism, influenced by masters such as Picasso, Portinari, DiCavalcante and Ismael Nery.
His works are characterized by the use of oil on canvas and pastel on cardboard. He has had several notable solo exhibitions, including at Restaurant Tanaka in 2004, Espace Culturel Maurice Valansi in 2005 and Restaurant Piola in 2006. His paintings are also on permanent display at the Luz dos Anjos Gallery in Brasília. Internationally, he exhibited in Miami at the Art Fusion Gallery in 2007 and in Belgium at the De Muze Galerie the same year.
Teixeira Leite's paintings, served by good drawing and bright colors, are incomprehensible. They often represent women, observed from the front and in profile simultaneously, with geometrically schematized bodies, performing unusual movements or levitating, freed from gravity. Her compositions include recurring elements such as chairs with unsteady legs, skinny flower vases and checkerboard floors, creating ambiguous and dreamlike spaces.
His painting is both figurative and abstract, following geometric patterns without rigidity, expressionist with a touch of humor. It is distinguished by a juxtaposition of well-defined and fragmented forms, attracting the viewer's eye with its expressive content and unique sensitivity.
Teixeira Leite's works are not just to be seen, they also invite reflection. They address themes of human solitude, impossible communication and the complexity of life. Figurative and abstracting, subordinated without rigid geometrical scheme, expressionist, but without denying a certain good humour touch, the strong painting from Roberto Teixeira Leite is paradoxal, in the sense that also participate of the nature of the drawings and, inside that, from the caricatural.
One painting of Roberto Teixeira Leite, be that an human figure, dead nature, landscape or the express that advances on its rails, it well be always, before anything else, the well defined form on its contours trough an composition of careful lines, and in the second moment fragmented, disarticulated, decomposed into a no-number of colored particles, to finally impose itself to the eyes of the expectator, by its expressive contents and one sui generis sensibility.
Served by a good drawing and strong colours, the paintings from Teixeira Leite are unique: they represent most of the times women, observed at the same time from the face and profile, geometrically set and with bodies that looks like to execute atypical movements, when not levitating, freed from the gravity force, surrounded by scenarios that appear, like recurring elements, chairs sustained on two or three legs, get through the figures, vases containing four or five thin flowers and the floor as a chess board, everything tied in a meticulous way, and each element obeying its own fugue point, what creates, on the surface of the painting, ambiguous spaces of dream.
