John Furnes
I live in Denmark. I take photographs. Landscapes of all sorts are my favorite, and the images come from all around where I have been. But also people, animals, things of interest etc get to be pictured.
I am most fascinated by the ever changing light, that when it reflects from a surface can take any of the rainbow's colours. Therefore I strive to capture this light in my pictures, and by carefully make the necessary adjustments, shapes and moods appear as I think I saw them when shooting.
I use a Canon EOS 5 II - that is not just new, but does me good service, and several high quality lenses; Canon, Tamron, Zeiss, Sigma, Meyer (Primoplan and Trioplan).
All my images reside in the cloud- that is BackBlaze (which is the best storage to me), as well as a couple of redundant SSD storages.

Treatment of photos
To get the most proper colours in my pictures, I use a few different methods that I have found to give satisfaction.
The most important one is the PPW method by Dan Margulis - where much of the corrections are made in L*a*b. Colours and light are separated and treated individually. This is the most fulfilling method I have encountered, and I started to learn about the possibilities from a book (Photoshop LAB Color) in 2014. Dan Margulis is one of the worlds best colour theorists - perhaps the very best, and have developed a set of methods to get to the best results in almost any photograph. He arranged an online course in 2020, which I followed, and which was quite rewarding. I use his methods on every picture I work on.
Later I attended a 1-year course on picture treatment - also online, by Daniele Di Stanio. This was about how to treat images to focus on what is important in an image, and perhaps make them more interesting.
Also I use frequency separation to get the most out of colour contrasts - a method refined by Roberto Bigano. There is also Lumenzia by Greg Benz; this is a most rewarding method.
And now we have AI. I have almost no experience with AI, but it is intriguing to see what possibilities this gives.
More images from me
I now have a lot more time on my hands, and am happy to use some of it on my photos. There will be some new pictures coming this way onward.
I look forward to filling in with exciting images, and to hear your opinion.
