This painting was created for the Fenians Fremantle & Freedom Festival in Fremantle, WA. January 2018.
About "Hope":
This artwork was created to convey part of the famous escape from Fremantle Prison in 1868 by a group of convicted Fenians. After narrowly escaping the Gorgette’s pursuit, the escapees continued desperately to reach the Catalpa. The last light of day and the calming of the seas helping them reach their first step to freedom.
