Joanna Morani, an artist inspired by Wabi-Sabi, the Japanese aesthetic philosophy that not only accepts imperfection but celebrates it and reveres natural authenticity. Her artworks are made entirely of organic materials, pure natural pigments, wood, glue and water, transformed into art through an intense physical process in which chance and experiment ultimately play an important role.
The artist surrenders completely to the creative process, without expectation, in the sense of giving up control and practicing anticipation, will allow a complete lack of intention and uncontrolled happening, with more emphasis on the actual physical process of creation, rather than on precision to achieve planned results.
