Thanks to Google Recognizing Black History Month and bringing her to my attention...I was prompted to go further. Thus, It was my privilege and honor to produce this Digital Photographic Tribute to 'Mama Cax'.

Born in America with Haitian Heritage...'Mama Cax'...was a young, Black, Educated Female Activist and Fashion Model who Advocated for the Disabled .

Diagnosed with Cancer as a teenager, a prevailing condition, for which she subsequently had her right leg Amputated, she lived for only 30 years (1989-2019), but...she lived a Victorious and Meaningful life.

Overcoming the rejection of her own body and low self esteem, she began to reach beyond all obstacles, whereby the Shame of her Disability became a Stepping Stone. With renewed Strength and Determination she 'Walked' Notable Runways with Pride and Confidence giving Inspiration and Encouragement... with her Voice and her Life. To those whom she touched, both directly and indirectly, she Lit a Fire of Hope as she Persevered to Enlighten the World.

Indeed, the Arena of Fashion and Modeling was Touched and Enticed. And because of her tireless and brave efforts, the 'Inclusivity' of those that are 'Different'....is more obvious today, in our time. Now many, whom the 'World of Hues and Design' at one time ignored, are fulfilling their aspirations and dreams because Mama Cax Challenged ...all... to look beyond an individual's 'Disability' to see their True Beauty and 'Ability'.

While obviously fulfilling an Inevitable Calling on her Short Life she left a Trail that is, yet...Long, Alive and Blazing! And she continues to send
an Unforgettable Message to not only those in the Fashion Domain, but the Entire Universe... 'I WAS HERE'!!!!
