I went to a vocational school in 1977 for Commercial Art. Now this occupation has come to be known as Graphic Design. We drew logos and designed advertisements by hand (with an ink pen, usually). Typewriters or hand lettering would be used to convey messages. Knowledge of the print and photography processes was necessary due to the fact that computers had not been invented yet. If something was to be printed; one would need to go to a print shop, and I was putting it all together. So my first real job was at a print shop. Then I worked for a couple of newspapers where I was an Advertising Artist (same as Graphic Artist or Commercial Artist). I'm well versed at designing graphic logos, brochures, resumes, business documents, advertisements, and the like using effective communication; writing, and art, which is a result of knowledge of one’s language and vision.
Delving a little deeper into the physics of writing and art, we find it contains a process of: 1. ideas; the creative unleashing of possible theories (madman) 2. formation; a foundation is planned (architect) 3. building; drafts are written (carpenter) 4. finishing; the writing is polished (finishing editor/proofreader) I’ve used these guiding principles countless times in my life. Just as a jeweler would not be able to sell rough stones, Jill would not have been able to make anything in the publishing field without employing these principles. Her college papers would have been fair to dull rocks. She can say this as the daughter of a bricklayer who was the son of a stonemason in a familial line that dates back to the middle 1600s.
So of course I did learn about laying bricks and throwing rocks too. Not very many structures stand the test of time when we throw rock (rough drafts). Only with this brick, mortar, and finish will the building stand. But enough about my lineage. My capstone point is that the finishing point of any building or art should communicate a great product. In creating this description I had the above principles in mind. My college papers, business papers, copywriting, web designs, resumes, and even informal conversations are inclusive of this process of which is a vital component. Why? Well, I might want to throw a rock at myself if I assume myself incapable of accomplishing as much. And as the daughter of a bricklayer, I think I know about bricks and buildings, mortar, and capstones. So now my concluding paragraph contains the capstone of what is called art. Art, as my gem of a teacher told me, is constructed with similar principles. It contains a precise methodology that assures great communication. I would like to involve you in this structure.
"Do you know how to draw cats?" she asked. I was 13. If anyone thinks they know something at 13, like the answer to that, it would be a lie. "I think so." I replied. And she showed me along with her method of drawing upside-down. Fifty years later I really learned the importance of multiple agles and curves necessary to draw a cat in motion, the pliable and subtle line of the feline. A few months went into forming an English alphabet of cats. And of course cats vary in pattern, so 2023 included the creation of a few monetary symbols, puctuations a cat would add. Because I've done Interior design jobs myself, I want to make the best quality art possible available, and as big as possible. Big is my garden someday when data measures in the jillions of bytes and still fits in your pocket, that would be nice, someday.
At present many of my digital prints are a whopping 50 megabytes at 40 x 60-inch size. If you'd like custom prints enlarged, I'd be glad to arrange that according to your specifications.
Here at Artmajeur and in many other galleries prints and digital files are generally 25 megabytes or close to half what I can offer if you want to customize, and I am open to customizations.
So common math dictates file sizes here will be approximately;
2160 x 8340 pixels at 150 dpi pixels or 59 pixels per cm = 4413x2493 pixels =24.3 megabytes in png format because .pngs have smoother edges and allow for transparency (a plus for designers).
But again, let me know if you'd like them even bigger, like the gardens that keep getting bigger in this video.

2020 began with a gift I've used and appreciated; a new Canon EOS RP, just right for capturing a selfie in my bandana-wrap or a skyscape containing visual remnants of Giza, or singular snowbuds on a blindingly vibrant day. This chronicle of times devoted to art during yet another world crisis is here to transmit my hopes and desires that viewers absorb these healthful color rays and the reiki intent to spread peace and joy in any manner possible during this pandemic. It started innocently enough, an oil painting of a sunset. Then it turned into a set of sunsets. As it progressed, I decided to see what would happen if I broke the rule about having to set a horizon line. Then it got tricky to paint so I turned them upside down, which might surprise you too; they look right no matter how you hang them up. So I left my signature off to allow you to hang them any dang way you want. Personally, I like versatility, s here you go, there are two similar paintings in this set. Swan Emergence 2021
As a commentary on coming into 2021, I hope to experience the jewel-like nature of things; such as droplets of the swan become part of the feathers and the swan becomes a lake that is dappled in the prisms of sun. Irises Henna on Rayon Laundered
So I wanted to try henna on a piece of rayon. the whole thing might melt though in a rinse cycle. This is why sometimes it's important to take pictures of wet henna. I've repaired the damage far too often when someone smears their freshly applied paint or puts an unfixed tie-die in the laundry on extreme hot agitation. This is rare because I digitized the work and the original does not exist. Title: 2021 Emergence Moonlit Swan

As a result of 2020 and previous to it, this scene occurred to me and likely millions of others simultaneously. My feathers are ruffled in the dark, cool, rough & rugged waters. My course has been thrown off due to circumstances beyond my control. I shall ride the onslaght of waves as best I can. But you will see a little red in my eye as I do when things get difficult. But see how this photo cyn Sennelier pigment glows in the moon, and how the stars actually twinkle so much it reflects in the water. So the waves light up too. It collects light, then turns light back on to accompany you all night. An original oil painting I'll have a hard time selling. 2021 is seeing me to shore and safe harbour.
