LATERNA MAGIKA - MUSIC IN SYMBOLS

LATERNA MAGIKA is an expression of my love of the music.
Moments of time-space, collected in one.

The goal I set was to visualize specific musical works, using note of music. In ancient times, before being introduced the known system of notes for recording music has been used letters. The letters as characters, the characters as symbols are a the major building block.
With the help of various artistic devices and techniques created a conditional sign system which is different for each work. The shape of the whole composition is determined by the number of times. For the form of time I use the square, a symbol of the earth and matter: 4/4, 3/4, 3/8
Instruments and the voices involved range occupy at least two octaves. The symbols that express notite have different shapes, colors, rasteri, and the matter is determined by my personal perception and attitude towards the musical work. They affect both the emotional and perceptions, as a bridge between the visible and unvisible and tangible. As a form can be art or expressive, abstract or concrete.

LATERNA MAGIKA is neck in the space-time. In theory to black holes, Stephen Hawking explains that the body fallen in the black hole is transformed to energy level and coming away from the other end, although the same, it already has a different form. This transformation is illustrated wonderful in "Guide to the galactic Hitchhikers" by D. Adams.
The door LATERNA MAGIKA managed to find and open with the help of three key. I found them during my training in the Academy, but then I not guess that all three keys are for the same door.
The first key is graphic techniques - very rich in artistic devices language. They include drawing and, the variety of techniques and expressive means.
The second key is perspective. The theme of light, color, shape, matter, space and time.
The third key is the font. Signs, symbols, thousands of font types; scripts, sign systems, keys. Every language has a script.
The idea of visualizing music is as old as music itself. The sign system from today, is rich enough to describe all the details. But only those who are familiar with it may decipher it. Therefore, the characters who used my sign systems are associated with the traditional visual means of communication - color, shape, raster.
