CRITIC
"Imagine great blows of pencil on a canevas, interlacings which in parallel run the ones to the others, and which end up meeting in ball as these cables which trail in her atelier ventilated and luminous (...) Then the hanks are untied at the top of the painting and fall down in cascade to form human features: the pout of the lips, the expression of the face, the wink, the wearing of head, the whole carefully and sensually (...) Her viatique of globe trotter, it is a little bag hand made containing a small notebook with drawings and a handle of pencils. She uses about it like a camera or like a recorder , observing people of the corner of her eye, without disturbing. She awaits the catch (without him... no drawing) then she draws with a pencil the eyes rivetted on the subject, the hand as endowed with an own life. With the return, there remain layers covered with what an not-informed public could take for gribouillis and, all at the bottom of her memory, thousands of visual, tactile, olfactive impressions which will grow until reaching dimensions of a painting. A little as a photographer who develops his film, tallies and improves his negative and increases. The brush of Itta runs like her pencil and the oil colours play Indian ink." (at the time of an exposure to Hilton Gallery in Brussels).
