La guazzo è una sostanza che utilizza un legante (glicerina) o un solvente gommato a base d'acqua (gomma arabica). Coprente e coprente (a differenza dell'acquerello), si mescola facilmente e si diluisce con acqua (tempera). Ampiamente usato dagli artisti, il termine guazzo designa sia il materiale, che si trova in un tubo, sia il risultato, che si osserva sulla tela.
