Silke Host is een hedendaagse Duits-Franse schilder. Ze schildert voornamelijk met acryl grote doeken en maakt gebruik van de verschillende technieken van acryl schilderen. Ze vindt vrijheid en zelfontdekking door haar gebruik van kunst, die ze beschouwt als een soort therapie. Host creëert haar eigen wereld door haar eigen figuratieve werken, een plek verstoken van armoede.

Af en toe verfraait ze een of meer van haar kenmerkende creaties met kolibries. Met zijn prachtige tinten fascineert deze vogelsoort haar. De kolibrie staat voor geluk, gratie en harmonie. Het vertegenwoordigt de schoonheid en rijkdom van het leven. En dat is precies waar Host kunst mee verbindt.

Silke Host werd geboren in 1975 in Duitsland. Ze woont en werkt in Frankrijk.
