At last my peonies are opening, so I grabbed the opportunity to sketch them. I like how they change colours slightly as they get older. I will be sketching them for the coming days, so more peonies will be on the way.
This is a small sketch, about postcard size, 6 x 8 inches.

Whether it's the soothing greens of the forest, the re-energising blues of the ocean or the vibrant colours of flowers, I paint scenes of nature that I feel so connected to and which is essential to my existence. In nature I find not only beauty but spiritual freedom, peace and contentment which I aim to convey in my watercolour paintings.
