Hilde Plessers
I'm a Belgian "Flemish" painter living near Brussels. I live in Testelt where my atelier is for the past twenty years. I really enjoy walking along the Demer river, with my dog. Nature inspires me a lot, also music. When I'm at home I love to garden. But my real passion is painting. I paint what fascinates me: a color, incident light, an emotional pose, a striking attitude. Feelings can go rather deep. To survive amongst the great suffering - that is incomprehensible, it makes me often frustrated, more than angry - I paint. The style is realistic, oil paintings, with some light dark contrast, colorful. I had my first exhibition in 1989 on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. Painting was not more than a hobby. After a few years of academy, I wanted to spend more and more time in my atelier. I was nominated by the “Dirk Bouts” prize in 1991, selected by the Rotary, Kulturama prize. I paint often simultaneously a portrait, still lives, landscapes. I’m really excited when I see a cow in the field, touch there power. I take pictures. Later I paint them.
