Hameed Kasumu is a young contemporary muliti-talented Nigerian artist, born in 1995 and grew up in the ancient city popularly christened as the Gateway City which also known as Abeokuta, Ogun State where he became fascinated with art at early stage. This development eventually progress to furthering his education in Art at Art and Industrial Design in Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, where he majored in Graphic Design. He works in digital and virtual medium, He approach the creation of each image with the traditional outlook of a painter. He try to bring depth and texture to the images that he work on, as well as, dramatic color and his own unique viewpoint.The goal of his art is for the viewer to be carried away into another world and encouraged to create his or her own story or simply pause for a moment of contemplation. The world is a busy place where modern life styles have come to dominate. The hope for his art is to provide moments of respite and perhaps inspire to the thought “What if?”.Hameed’s work recreates the innocence and mystique of childhood stories. He blend texture and colour adapting or replacing elements to enhance the cinematic feel of photographs and art.The majority of his recent works are digital collage and digital painting. Hameed don’t plan what he will do to an image or what the final outcome will be like. He start and see where his feelings and subconscious leads him.With his digital creations, he is trying to create something that he enjoy and hope that others will as well.
