The challenge for me with this 16x12 floral still life, was to capture the reflections of the three oranges and the white pitcher on highly-polished wood: I'm pleased with the outcome, and then I wanted to paint a work that was harmonious in terms of the color. The deep warm brown of the table is reinforced by the background, and the oranges struck me as the perfect compliment to the orange and yellow roses. This oil painting (on canvas) is signed and dated in verso and ships with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity. It is clear-coated in artist-grade varnish to protect it from dust and abrasion, and is framed in a plein air style wooden frame that appears to be pecan or fruitwood. The frame has an inside gold-leaf liner (about 3/8th of an inch wide) that picks up on the golden yellows in the painting, and the fruitwood stain echoes the deep browns of the background: Together, frame and painting, work beautifully together.
