Words by Paul Bourget

translation by S. Ginsberg

In the quiet evening hour when the rivers are ablaze
And the expanse of fields and fields is filled with warmth,
Everything around us inspires a dream of happiness,
Her call is sweet to the heart.

This is a call to enjoy everything that life is rich in;
The evening is gentle and quiet, spring is blooming in my soul ...
But, like a river wave, there is no return to our days, -
She should sail in the sea, we will go to the kingdom of sleep ...

I always sing when I paint my paintings and they are filled with the energy of music.

Even while studying music, I learned about myself such a feature that when I listen to a piece of music, picturesque colorful images appear in my head. I believed that this happens with every person who listens to music. And only at the institute I learned that this feature is very rare and even scientifically studied.

Its name is SYNESTHESIA.

Synesthesia is a type of color hearing in which musical sounds evoke color associations in a person.
In the paintings, as a color basis for the background, I take the sound tonality in which the work is written, and then convey the music of classical composers with the help of paints and colors.

My paintings are filled with music. When I paint pictures, I listen to a piece of music, and if the piece I am listening to is vocal, then I sing ... I am a laureate of international competitions in opera vocal and performing another piece, my picture is filled with live sounds and vibrations of music ...
And if the piece is instrumental, then I look for its piano score, and after the painting is finished, I perform that piece of music that inspired me on the piano and, accordingly, I also fill it with music ..

Why do I use seascapes for color rendering, and not abstraction?

The fact is that sea waves beat against the shore with a certain rhythm.

Dante also used the rhythm of the sea to compose the verse of his works. And music, as you know, is rhythmic.

The sea for me is the most alive on earth and changing its state; in my opinion, it is best suited for conveying a musical mood. Indeed, in different types of art, the state of mind was compared with natural phenomena. And what can disturb the soul as strongly as a sea storm, or soothe it, as the sound of water of quiet and gentle waves?

My paintings are the material embodiment of music, so you won't see animals or birds on them. This way I want the extra details not to interfere with the color perception.

You will see two titles on each of the paintings. The first is the emotions that I experienced while listening to a piece of music, and the second is the name of the piece of music that inspired me to create this image.

Not everyone is given a color hearing, so now, I want to share this quality of mine with other people and show them how beautiful a piece of music can look.

I want other people to be able to see what they hear ...

Have you noticed that during the twilight, the colors around become juicier and brighter?

In my opinion - pastel is much better than other types of paints, conveys brightness and richness, which I love so much in paintings. Therefore, for the image of the sea, I chose pastel. And if you put a pastel painting in a frame behind the glass, not forgetting to put a mat - an interlayer that would separate the painting from the glass, not allowing the pastel layer to come into contact with the glass, then such paintings retain their richness of colors much longer than oil painting.

Unlike oil paintings, the paint on them will not crack and burst.

And also - the twilight conveys human emotions so well. As the sun goes down, everything changes as quickly as the emotional experience.

My seascapes do not depict animals, people or seagulls. Thus, I want it to become closer and the rest of the details do not interfere with perception and merging with it.

My paintings do not have the artist's signature. I sign my work before sending it to the customer. And if the format of the picture allows, then I can sign several phrases on it that you want. It can be a congratulation to the person to whom you want to give a picture, or a phrase that is of great importance to you.

The theme of my artwork is music. Considering that the musical language arose from the intonations of colloquial speech, then I depict the energy of not only musical sounds, but also literary ones, because a literary work is the basis and motivating factor for the birth of music. These two types of art are united by a common specificity - a sound wave. Therefore, my paintings are not only a visualization of music as an art form, but also music in the broadest sense of the word: the energy that it carries with it. The music of life, soul, feelings, sensations and emotions...

Why do I mean precisely the energy, and not the meaning of musical and literary works. Because meaning is what is imposed on us. The word passion has a certain decoding, which everyone adheres to, but each of us will have our own individual emotions with this word that are not subject to any literary decoding. The ones we live in.

That is why there are no finished classical images in my works. They blur in a color sequence, they are part of the energy in which each viewer puts his own meaning.

At the heart of my visualization is a color stroke. In this way I express the color of the sound wave and the temporal duration of the sound. Why sound? Because sound is the fundamental principle of the creation of the world!
