Born in Tours, her career as an artist began with her grandfather, a designer.
In the 80s, living in Paris, she met some pioneers of Street Art and had her first experiences in the street, with her aerosol cans.
A few years later, back in her hometown, she joined a theater troupe and followed numerous artistic courses where she studied color theory and discovered several pictorial and graphic techniques.
In 2015, in the streets of Tours, she painted her first “Girls of the Wind”, women, often Asian, in multi-colored dresses on the city's electrical cabinets.
Free women placed on “steles” erected on the sidewalks like protective goddesses.
We can now find many “girls of the wind” in Touraine but also in France and abroad.
Committed to the fight against violence against women, Gil does her street work with women's centers in France and recently in the Ivory Coast where she creates frescoes with women in difficulty by teaching them the technique and the use of aerosol cans and teaches them to create positive and colorful murals in order to restore their self-esteem and pride.
In recent years, Gil has returned to studio work where she likes to create more spontaneous works. In the energy of color she wishes to deliver a message of encouragement and optimism.
Technically, she likes to combine a classic approach to female portraiture with a more contemporary style of painting that combines aerosol paints, acrylics and collages of posters collected in the street. Her drawing explores contemporary aesthetics in order to bring out the beauty and strength of the feminine.
In his intense universe; passion, sensuality, sweetness, strength, mingle and unravel in turn.
For her, creation is a language but also a vector of powerful, colorful and positive emotions.
Her work today is available indoors and outdoors and combines the strength of the street with the delicacy of women.
