Georgi Kostov (GeoKos)

Georgi Kostov is a distinguished contemporary Bulgarian painter, professor, and art theorist known for his bold contributions to modern painting and deep exploration of art's foundational elements. Educated in Fine Art at institutions in Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia, and Saint Petersburg, he has gone on to teach as a Professor of Fine Art at the University of Veliko Tarnovo and served as the Director of the Boris Denev Art Gallery in Veliko Tarnovo. Kostov is also the author of The Dutch Group Portraiture and has produced significant research on composition, light, and color, enriching the global discourse on these artistic elements.

Kostov’s artistic journey is rooted in the classical traditions of art academies, yet he has continually expanded beyond these conventions. His work includes large-scale compositions with a philosophical depth that evokes an ethereal quality, often regarded as "extraterrestrial plastic milestones."
